Dream Session

Awake Session

Awake Session

APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN

Both the Awake and the Dream sessions of the Village Deathcare Citizen Course are dedicated to those who truly wish to dive *deep* into the work of death and dying. The time commitment will be held and agreed upon in advance. The content that you share for your weekly writing submissions must be thorough and in-depth (you do not need to be a genius! You just need to put in a sincere effort.) so that your classmates can truly benefit from each individual's contribution in the course.  There is a great deal of self-discovery, self-love and self-healing work done in this course as that is the foundation of caregiving- no one can give water from an empty well. And there is *quite* a lot of giving when caring for the dying!

This course is not a grief support group and it is recommended that one take at least a full year to have space and mend after a close death has occurred.

Tuition for this life changing training is $888

Limited BIPOC & ESL scholarships available. Limited discounts for Canadian citizens and those over 70. Limited partial exchange opportunities. Inquire directly.

With her ability to divine the future and revisit the past, she advises her clients with compassion and a straightforward approach. As a medium, she helps people to connect with their beloved dead, family, friends, and loved ones who have passed, as well as make connections with the guiding spirits who watch over them.

As an intuitive healer, Saicrow is dedicated to helping the beings of our planet and the Earth itself. She is a reiki master in six schools of reiki, a sound healer, druid, and a practitioner of Rune Valdr and Seithr.  Salicrow is the author of 'Jump Girl' (2018, North Atlantic Press) & 'The Path of ELEMENTAL WITCHCRAFT' (Due for Release May 2022, Inner Traditions).

She is a deep lover of sacred travel and has been known to go on adventures, near and far, where she can most likely be found doing healing work on the spirits of the land and on the land itself.

Zoom Classes

DEATH DOULA 12 WEEK 111 HOUR CERTIFICATE:

AUGUST 17 - NOV 23

We will meet once per week for 12 weeks and you will connect with a partner once per week on your own time.  The live Zoom calls are every Sunday-- Awake meets at 10:00 am to 12:00 pm eastern and Dream meets 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm eastern. Choose which time of day works best for you!

GRADUATION date TBA

You are strongly encouraged to attend each session live as the classes are not recorded for privacy purposes.

Guest speakers will join us on occasion throughout the the course. The Guests are superb at what they do and you'll benefit greatly from learning from them!

Reading, Research, Meditation & Time Commitment

The course offers an array of assignments each week (videos, podcasts, articles, experiential activities) but this is also heavily directed by the class itself. We dedicate an entire week to ancestral studies which is in-depth personal work. You are encouraged to meditate (instruction will be offered at the beginning of the course) throughout the twelve weeks. You can expect about six to eight hours of work each week outside of our meeting times. When considering the live Zoom calls and partner work the average time spent will be approximately ten hours per week. However, this is work of the heart and soul and it doesn't just "vanish" from mind when you close the book for the evening. Gently keep that in mind.

Community and Partner

You'll need to recognize, engage with and learn about  your own community throughout the training. There will be some assignments to keep you connected to others for your own support and to begin to understand how communities work with dying and grief. Remember the intention of this particular course is to reweave deathcare into your own community.

**Full participation in class is mandatory or your acceptance to the course will be withdrawn.**

Step One: Complete The Application

"Anne-Marie's book Death Nesting and her death doula course has propelled my understanding of the importance of deep diving and digesting your own personal experiences before aiding others in their dying process. Each time I have taken this course, something new bubbles to the surface that helps me take a deeper look into my own knee jerk reactions and feelings. As a hairdresser, taking this course as an apprentice, has helped hone my reflective listening skills as well as become more of a witness in my own grief process. The work provided in this course is necessary in our world today and can be used across a wide range of skill sets."

~Krystall

"The apprenticeship experience is truly invaluable. It creates a well-rounded foundation for graduates and deepens the sense of belonging — I genuinely feel like a citizen in the community that is Village Deathcare. Partnering with students has been deeply meaningful, offering a chance to support their growth while reflecting on my own. And getting a behind-the-scenes look at the work Anne-Marie does is a rare and generous glimpse

into sacred service in action."
