“Death nesting is a vital element in reclaiming personal power during this very important phase of life; end of life care. Anne-Marie weaves together the healing sensory modalities of the old with the modern necessities of today. A book worth reading.” –Olga Nikolajev RN, MA, CT,
"I first purchased this book to support a retreat on death nesting that i went to taught by Anne-Marie after my mother past. I was so impressed with how well the book was laid out in a very practical manner and that while it was very thorough it was also really easy to read for someone without a medical background. The book itself was so comforting and helped me to understand death and the dying process more intimately. After reading this book I feel so much more confident and capable to be there for my loved ones when they are nearing death and I feel like it has allowed me to have a deeper understanding of my own life and inevitable death in a very impactful way. I highly suggest this book as well as other books and courses taught by this incredible author and teacher!"

BOOK ONE: Ghosts, banshees, fae lights and funerals… Four young adults and a mysterious young man are brought together through the death of their beloved dog only to discover that death and life are inseparable and living is more precious because of it. Magical, humorous and emotionally moving, this is the story of life after the Great Virus where death education has become essential to understanding how to love and how to live.
“Perfectly timed and with a plethora of social justice messages for teens rolled into one captivating fantasy novel” — Lee Webster, funeral reform advocate and thought leader, National Home Funeral Alliance, National End-of-Life Doula Alliance, Green Burial Council
“Anne-Marie Keppel displays an extraordinary honesty and sensitivity in this work in the way that she weaves the ancient Irish tradition of Keening through a modern American tale. While not shying away from the details, young people are taught to maintain the dignity of the bereaved, honour the deceased and accept death as a fact of life. This initiation into death rituals is an important (although often neglected) element in any young person’s education. What a gift!” — Dr. Mary Mc Laughlin, Irish Singer, Teacher

Book two in the Ancient Death Doula Series brings Tiger and her friends to her Finnish relative’s country Inn in Vermont. Shrouded in mystery, the five aim to discover what happened to Tiger’s missing (or dead?) uncle while caring for her aunt and all while running the Inn themselves.
*“Anne-Marie Keppel’s delightful book The Death of Faefolk offers the reader an enchanting story that masterfully weaves in themes of loss and grief along with factual information about death. This book is an essential tool for educating young adults about death as a key to the cycle of life and presents the information through a comforting and non-threatening tale. I highly recommend it for readers of all ages who want to get in touch with the gift of our mortality.”-Karen Wyatt MD, Author of 7 Lessons for Living from the Dying, Host of End-of-Life University Podcast*

I wrote this series (and I hope there will be a third one coming!) because there is a major vacancy in older children's literature that is death empowered. The kids in this book are curious, kind and they bravely navigate the complexities of death and dying. I have yet to come across another young adult/older child book that dives into all things death and dying in a supportive, fun, (and funny and gross) educational way.

"This workbook (enchiridion, as she calls it) puts many of the resources you need to contemplate, prepare for and reflect upon, your death/plan. Anne-Marie addresses the soul needs of the end of life threshold with great depth, while never losing sight of the here and now. There's nothing else like it that I've found; and it's essential planning for everyone.
Using trees as the wisdom source, she provides meditations based on Tree Medicine and an extended comparison (trees and humans) that stands up well. Next, her mindfulness practices and preparations are tried and true. The sections for journaling contain prompts that are sure to elicit curiosity and a plumbing of the depths! I feel sure that this compendium will serve each person who takes the time to read and complete it, and perhaps more importantly, their people.
Anne-Marie is inclusive and aware, so this book can be used by any adult. I highly recommend securing your own copy. One of my favorite lines from the book, "You do not need to mend every wound in order to acknowledge that they exist."

"Anne-Marie is a wonderful writer and contributor to the realm of end of life care for oneself. This book is a beautiful offering in how we may sit with the inevitability of our own death, in a way that feels comforting and encompasses a great many ways to approach it."

"I am 51 years old, single and do not have children. I’ve wondered/worried about my ‘spiritual legacy’ because I lead what *I* think is a profound life and want to leave something of valuable insight behind…
It is not an exaggeration to say this book changed my life the moment I cracked the binding and had to look up the word “enchiridion.” Because of “Growth Rings”, I am literally enjoying more moments in my life because of this process of recognizing, documenting and celebrating the uniqueness of my existence. Not to mention the practicality of the end-of-life portion.
Buy this book for yourself and everyone you love."

"I have always wanted something like this journal to exist. Anne Marie puts together wonderful meditations that compliment the guided journal so well. I cannot recommend this book enough. Take your time, enjoy the journey."
