2023 Vermont Death & Dying Retreat

For the occasion of this retreat, Jade will be sharing a tea meditation — a container of stillness where the practice of preparing, serving and drinking tea becomes a path to remembering the transient quality of each moment. Through this journey, we will explore how the practice of tea can serve as a support to infusing the wisdom of Nature and the five changes ; Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water.

Jade is the founder of WAOTEA, a project dedicated to tea, meditation, Chinese philosophy and the healing arts. For the past 13 years, she has been studying tea culture and daoist philosophy, in China, Japan and Malaysia. She is the author of the book “Tea, Remembering the Essence of Life” — a book exploring the way of tea through the lens of the five elements. Jade is a facilitator of meditative and healing arts experiences — supporting her community to find peace and acceptance, inspired by the way of Nature.

How can psychedelics assist with opening our hearts and minds to better appreciate our mortality? How might they benefit someone who will one day die? What happens in the brain during psychedelic journeys? Are there other ways of upgrading consciousness without embarking upon a psychedelic journey? Explore hormetic stresses that will greatly improve your own wellbeing so you can show up energized for your own life and in service to others.

Pablo is a tri-lingual psychotherapist and multi-certified psychedelic assisted therapy practioner. With decades of Buddhist meditation practice and teaching, he holds a black belt in Kung Fu and applies the wisdom of the Five Buddha Energies into his every day work and life. 

There is nothing like practicing community deathcare while handling a physical corpse! For this training we will be working with LIVE bodies, however, we'll get the full experience of caring through the dying process (basic nursing skills), into the home funeral and all the way into the ground for a green burial. Sound romantic? Oh, yes, also, fun, funny, and challenging.  Having practiced in real-life with a group of others fast tracks your learning so you will be able to help others in your family or community. This training is invaluable and will change your life!

Anne-Marie is a funeral celebrant, experienced in home funerals, green burials, home burials and caring for individuals through the dying process. She leads a very successful 12 week online death doula training course, is a published author and founder of Village Deathcare Inc.

Facilitated discussion for those who have completed Reiki 2. 

Theresa was attuned as a Reiki Master Teacher in 1994 and since then taught and supervised all levels of Reiki, provided spiritual coaching, healing, mentoring, consultations and workshops. 

Celebrating the new incarnation of Death Nesting newly released by Inner Traditions & Bear and Co, Anne-Marie will be holding a book release party at her home-- grounds of the 225 year old Casa Luna on Craftsbury Common Vermont.
